The Key Palace Theatre needs your help!
Tough economic times and a series of bad breaks have affected the Key Palace Theatre in Redkey, IN. The Key Palace might be forced to close its doors, and is asking for donations from the community to help keep the blues alive in Redkey.
The Key Palace has brought legendary blues acts to the small Indiana town of Redkey for more than 18 years. Acts to play the Key Palace include Leon Redbone, Delbert McClinton, Saffire - the Uppity Blues Women, Shemekia Copeland, Duke Tumatoe, Li'l Ed & the Blues Imperials, Marcia Ball, Tommy Castro, Eddie Shaw, Lonnie Brooks, Roomful of Blues, Anson Funderburgh & the Rockets, Smokin' Joe Kubek & Bnois King, Mississippi Heat, Little Charlie and the Nightcats... way too many to mention!
The Key Palace's sole owner and operator, Charlie Noble is well loved within the community, and brings a great deal of tourism to Jay County through the theatre. The theatre was personally restored by Charlie, and is operated almost entirely by volunteers. Repair funds, operational costs, theft, advertising and postage increases have all contributed to the tentative future of the theater.
"I don't like to ask, but we need any help we can get" Charlie said.
A donation link has been added to the website at http://keypalacetheatre.com. Please help save the Key Palace by making a donation today. Any amount - no matter how small - will be welcomed and appreciated, and donations of $20 or more will receive a gift certificate for the theatre.
When times are down, people get the blues! With your help, the Key Palace can continue to bring the best in blues to East Central Indiana.
