SEO - What is it, Why do I need it?

Search Engine Optimization is one of the most important - and most misunderstood - aspects of the internet.

Once your site has been launched, the search engines like Yahoo and Google need to know where to find you. But the task doesn't end there. How do you get your site to show up on the top of the results list?

That is the underlying principle with SEO - getting search engines to include your website, and finding ways to propel your site to the top of search engine results for key words or terms that might be used to find your website.

It's worth noting that the two most popular search engines that will bring you the most traffic are Google and Yahoo. Many of the smaller search engines are powered by one or the other. Ineo recommends that SEO efforts be put toward targeting those two first, then supplemented by targeting secondary search engines such as MSN and ask.com.

Ineo offers Search Engine Optimization services, and a wide range of marketing opportunities to help your website gain valuable ranking among your online competitors. However, SEO is a difficult solution to quote, due to the varying complexity of each website. It is a complicated process to implement, and impossible to guarantee.

Safe to say, each Search Engine Optimization solution must be a unique quote with its own unique goals, and it can become expensive very quickly. It requires a great commitment from both the service provider (Ineo) and the client. Because of this, we suggest each client try their own hand at SEO before requesting SEO solutions from Ineo.

A long term, well reasoned and informed SEO campaign can be implemented by you, the DIY webmaster. Here's few resources to get you started:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_engine_optimization
