In search of: Internet Self Promotion
Getting the most out of your website investment is a big thing around here.
We're always looking for the best way to get our message in front of the right person.
Here are some ideas that might help you get your money's worth.
1- Email is "cost effective". This means cheap. Use it.
It can be easy if you have an aptitude for such things. An opt-in newsletter system can sometimes simplify the process.
2- Keep your webspace current and attractive.
You can get fancy with a website, but you need to provide clear andeasy-to-recognize contact information above everything else.
3- Provide something. Consider a "free giveaway," or you can offer valued opinions or advice.
By sharing your experience, you're opening the pathway to others. What can you share with your online visitors that will open those doors to future visits and repeat traffic?
4- Keep it simple. Attention spans are short. Think of it in terms of 4's.
Most visitors to your site give it no more than 4 clicks, most visitors give a website 4 seconds to decide if they dig it. You get the idea.
5- Use the social networking sites to promote yourself.
Experts say that social networking sites tend to reach a younger audience. You can use that and other information to target your advertisements and messages.
